The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The most efficient self-emptying robot vacuum comes with a base that holds a month's worth of debris and then automatically empty. It also creates a detailed map of your home, allowing you to label rooms and create "no-go" zones.
It is equipped with superior obstacle avoidance capabilities, as well, so it is safe from power cords and rogue socks.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
This robot is a premium model from iRobot and it performs very well. It is able to maneuver easily across a range of different surfaces and is extremely efficient in collecting dust, dirt and other debris. It's also extremely sturdy and looks good too.
The S9 is the latest model of iRobot's top S Series line of robot vacuums and, as such, it boasts many additional features that set it apart from other models. For example the iRobot app can use the camera on this unit to create a map of your home which allows it to in cleaning and navigation.
It's not necessary to spend time cleaning the same spots over and over again in the event that the battery gets depleted. You can set the timer to start and stop cleaning using an audio command, or via the iRobot App. This smart vacuum is able to clean in the dark!
Carpet Boost is another great feature. It provides the S9 more suction power when it comes into contact with carpeting so that it will pick up more dirt. The unit is an open-front design that allows it to get closer to corners and walls than previous round designs. This model does not work well with shag or high-pile carpeting.
During our testing during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a range of flooring surfaces, ranging from hard to medium-pile carpets and rugs. It also worked well on vinyl, and laminate floors. It also did a nice job of navigating around objects and furniture, however it had some issues with stairs, where it can crash into objects like bookcases.
We loved the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's full, which significantly reduces the need for hands-on maintenance. The dust bin is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and a half. You'll need to replace the filter every few months (as suggested by iRobot). We've found that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get extremely loud when it's in use which makes it a good choice for people who live with kids or pets.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Robot vacuum cleaners are made to take care of the chores for you, and they are able to clean carpet and hardwood floors. The most effective ones can be monitored and controlled via a smartphone app and some include mopping tech for bathroom and kitchen floors. They're a great choice for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. If you're looking for the most advanced technology for your robotic cleaner, then you'll have to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine, making it a good choice for those in a house with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold a lot of pet hair. Its dual motors provide impressive cleaning power. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied which is great as you'll have to do this regularly.
It's also easy to set up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the very first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the directions to connect it to your WiFi network. Once you've done that the app will assist you create an accurate map of your home. You can name rooms, divide large spaces into sub-rooms (good for open-plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that need cleaning at the time of. Many other robots offer similar mapping and scanning functions, but Eufy's application is more refined and intuitive than others.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum through voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot more hands-free. And it works well in our test house.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some problems with floors that are not fully covered. It can miss pet hair and other small objects, and it is prone to bump into things - such as its own charger at the base for charging. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tested and the whirring sound can be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we've tested but it does come with the basics. It has a big enough dust bin that can hold plenty of dirt before it needs emptying, and its vacuum and mop system works great on both carpets with low pile and hard floors. It's also super quiet and we were able to watch TV while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with noise.
Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and they were amazed by its ability to take all the mess off their flooring. It also did a good job at removing pet hair and other messes that get on carpeting, though it was not as effective in removing stubborn staining. The users found the app to be user-friendly and intuitive, and could schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to reduce the amount they had to do manually. The only drawback is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).
Another model from iRobot's affordable line, the V3S Pro has some impressive features for its price. It beat out all other robotic vacuums we tested when it comes to mapping and avoiding obstacles, and it's the best budget pick for those who are looking for an intelligent self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of pet hair and messes on both carpeting and hardwood floors. It's also quiet and has a huge dust bin which can hold a lot before it needs to be emptied.
Although the V3S Pro didn't earn a place in our top picks compilations from reliable sources that conduct tests with hands-on, it got high marks from reviewers at Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They were impressed with how easy it was to install and use, but they also noted that the battery life was short and it didn't manage to stay clear of some of the most stubborn messes we put it through.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is a solid basic robot vacuum and mop that doesn't skimp on features or cost. It comes with many of the features found on high-end models, including smart navigation and mapping, all without spending a fortune. You can also use voice commands through Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations, and then start your cleaning routine from anywhere while you're away.
Roborock has taken its time to design this smart cleaner. This is why the product is incredibly solid and feels like it was constructed from premium materials. Its base is strong and solid, and has an integrated charging port for the battery. The docking station is located for the tank that is clean and dirty-water bins on top. Under those, you'll find a panel that holds the sealed vacuum bag.
When you connect your device to the app, you'll see a 2D or 3D map of your home. It will show the location of where your robot is located and what area it's cleaning. You can also design virtual barriers to keep your robot from certain areas or only clean certain kinds of flooring. It is also able to adjust its power settings based on the floor type being cleaned and choose the most efficient cleaning best robot mop method.
The Q Revo stands out from many other robot vacuums due to the fact that it can lift both mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibres from becoming stained. It's actually one of the few vacuums that can do this.
The Q Revo's suction force of 5500Pa can get rid of pet hair and dust specks when you clean. The all-rubber brush is able to disentangle human and animal hair as it adapts to uneven surfaces.
The only issue with this device is that it takes some time to empty and fill both the dirty and clean tanks. You can reduce the frequency of this by using the auto-empty feature that will empty the bin automatically after a few days. There isn't an automatic reminder to check the level of water at the dock.
